The advantages of the Digital Hub Initiative

The Digital Hub Initiative connects medium-sized companies and corporates with new innovation partners from science and the start-up scene.

The Digital Hub Initiative creates partnerships by bringing medium-sized companies and corporations together with the latest innovators from the science and start-up scene. Twelve digital hubs across Germany form a solid network that enable the exchange of technological and economic know-how, programs and ideas. In every digital hub, start-ups, companies, and research institutions come together to find joint solutions for the challenges and perspectives of digitization. Accelerators and incubators develop new solutions for the digitization of processes, products, and business models in various sectors in industry-specific innovation programs. These solutions range from artificial intelligence to mobility, digitization of the health or insurance sector and intelligent infrastructure.

The digital hubs in Germany include the cities of Berlin (IoT & FinTech), Cologne (InsurTech), Dortmund (Logistics), Dresden / Leipzig (Smart Systems & Smart Infrastructure), Frankfurt / Darmstadt (FinTech & Cybersecurity), Hamburg (Logistics) , Karlsruhe (Artificial Intelligence), Mannheim / Ludwigshafen (Digital Chemistry & Digital Health), Munich (Mobility & InsurTech), Nuremberg / Erlangen (Digital Health), Potsdam (MediaTech) and Stuttgart (Future Industries). The Digital Hub Initiative is a project of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
